Results for GfK TEMAX® Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Q4 2017

Jeddah, February 15, 2018 – In Q4 2017, the Saudi Arabian Technical Consumer Goods (TCG) market recorded a growth of 7.9%, with a turnover of SAR8.56 billion, when compared to the same period in 2016. The mega sale and pre-VAT implementation promotions has revived the Saudi TCG market.

The main driver of the Saudi TCG market is Telecommunication sector, which witnessed a growth of 21.1%. Consumer Electronics reported a marginal growth of 0.3% which is the only other sector reporting a growth. All the remaining sectors reported a decline, Photography (down by 20.3%), Office Equipment & Consumables (down by 7%), Information Technology (down by 6.2%), Small Domestic Appliances (down by 1%) and Major Domestic Appliances (down by 0.8%).
