GFK Temax results for Romania, Q4 2018

Bucharest, February 11th, 2019 – Romanian technical consumer goods (TCG) market reached 3,4 bn Euro in 2018, representing a 13% growth versus 2017. The main driver of this growth was the telecommunication sector, with a value increase of 23%, up to 1,4 bn Euro, thus being the most important sector of the market, with a 42% share. On a quarterly basis, Romanian TCG market reached nearly 1,2 bn Euro in Q4 2018, of course driven by promotional events like Black Friday and Christmas sales. Compared with Q4 2017, the market increased by nearly 7%, main engines being Major Domestic Appliances and Office Equipment sectors, with growth rates of 12% and 13% respectively.
