GFK Temax results for Romania, Q2 2019

Bucharest, August 2019 – In the first six month of 2019, Romanian Technical Consumer Goods (TCG) market reached 1.436 million Euro in the first half of 2019, an increase of 2,2% compared with H1 2018.This good performance is owed especially to the Major and Small Domestic Appliances (MDA & SDA), with growth rates of 14% and 11, 9%, respectively. Along with Consumer Electronics (CE), with a 5,7% growth, these are the only three sectors with value increases in the first six months of this year.Consumer Electronics reached 214 million Euros, mainly as a result of the very good performance of TVs. As well, sales value of Major Domestic Appliances was 283 million Euro in H1 2019. For SDA value sales was 105 million, while Information Technology totalled 187 million Euro, representing a 10,1% decrease compared with same period in 2018.The most important sector in TCG market, Telecom, had a nearly flat evolution compared with H1 2018, of -0,5%, to 623 million Euro.On the negative side, Photo sector decreased by 9,2%, to 10 million Euro, while Office Equipment (OE) decreased by 7,1%, to 15 million Euro.
