Growth fuelled by Consumer Electronics and Telecommunications in the Philippines

GfK TEMAX® results for the Philippines, Q1 2018

Manila, February 5, 2018 – The Philippine technical consumer goods (TCG) market registered 32.1% growth in the fourth quarter of 2017, compared to the same quarter of the previous year.  Sales value rose to PHP 71.501 billion in Q4 of this year from PHP 54.108 billion in the same quarter of the previous year.

Growth was observed across all products categories with Telecommunication and Information Technology leading the expansion with a gain of 40.9% and 39.5% respectively.  Among the product categories, it is only Office Equip-ment and Consumables which reflected a drop of 20.5%.
