GfK TEMAX results for Malaysia, Q1 2020

Kuala Lumpur, April 29, 2020 – The Technical Consumer Goods (TCG) market in Malaysia declined by 12.3 per cent in Q1 2020, compared to the same quarter last year. The most important segment driving the market decline was Telecommunications (TEL), followed by Major Domestic Appliances (MDA) and Small Domestic Appliances (SDA). These panels were down by 14.9 per cent, 10.7 per cent and 14.1 per cent respectively. On the other hand, only Information Technology (IT) grew, this panel reported a growth of 2.0 per cent in value in Q1 2020 compared to Q1 2019.
