Some positive Changes Q1 2020 consumption of technical consumer goods in Israel.

GfK TEMAX results for Israel, Q1 2020

Israel, May 18th, 2020 – During Q1 2020, the technical consumer goods (TCG) market, showed quite an impressive growth compared to the same Q in 2019. This is mainly because the period leading to Passover – which is one of the peak seasons in the Israeli sales calendar - occurred this year in March. In 2019, Passover was at the end of April, so the peak was pronounced in Q2. Furthermore, Government regulations regarding Covid-19, such as working from home, social distancing and lockdown, came into effect in late March, so it was hardly felt in Q1. We expect that the outcome of the pandemic will be fully noticeable during Q2 (sales in the months immediately after Passover are usually much less robust. Combined the effect of the virus, we expect it will be even more so). As the pandemic forced many places of business to shut down, Online sales registered a dramatic increase. We predict that this tendency will accelerate in the near future.
