Copenhagen, February 11, 2019 – In Q4 2018, the overall TCG market in Denmark was stable and generated about the same sales value as in Q4 2017. There was growth in MDA, SDA & IT and a decline in CE/Photo, Telecom & Office. IT was the sector with the highest growth, driven by gaming desktop, no gaming laptops and monitors & accessories overall. Within CE, there was growth in TV, while sales of other, especially non-smart, product groups declined. MDA growth was driven by built-in hobs, cooking, cooling & dishwashers, while increased demand for vacuum cleaners lifted SDA. In contrast to the growth of the Telecom sector in Q4 2017, there was a slight decline in Q4 2018 due to a decrease in smartphone sales, which was offset by strong growth in headsets and core wearables.
