Bogota, May 22th 2018 –The Colombian market of Technological Consumption Goods (TCG) in the last quarter of 2017 presented a growth in value of 7,4% compared to previous year, this reflects a better result relative to the last quarter of 2017. Nevertheless, volume of TGC presented a steady growth of 1,2%. Is amazing the expansion that had TV and MDA during the beginning, because, contrary to 2017 trends Telco sector did not contribute a lot to growth.
The Back to school season and mass merchandiser anniversary events affected the first quarter growth these events caused that the big merchandisers create strong promotions in the IT sector.
Respect to other categories like TV, as 2018 is a World Cup year and due to the huge interest that the Cup generates to Colombians. Manufacturers have been taking advantage of this expanding the category with adverting campaigns allusive to the world Cup. This Ads included famous football players such as James Rodriguez for increasing their sales even in categories not related to TV.
