Bogotá, November 14 - 2019 - During the third quarter of 2019, the Colombian market for technological consumer goods (TCG) showed a growth in both value (+22.76%) and units (+10.62%) compared to the same quarter of 2018.
Through the year, the local consumer tendency to acquire mobile devices (Telecommunica-tion) has become evident, and this quarter is no exception, since the sector reached about 1.55 trillion COP and showed a growth of 29.4% (in value) compared to the same period of 2018.
This quarter was influenced by promotional events such as mass merchandisers anniver-saries, promotional seasons and salary temporal bonuses. In the quarter, the categories that achieve a greater share of sales were cell phones, laptops, fridges, washing machines and TVs. The growth in sales of the quarter was largely generated by the recovery of one of the most important manufacturers in the local market.
