Singapore’s Technical Consumer Goods sector improved in Q2 2017

GfK TEMAX® results for the Singapore, Q2 2017

The technical consumer goods (TCG) market in Singapore grew by 5.9 percent in the second quarter of 2017, compared to the same quarter last year.  Only 4 of the 7 sectors turned in positive growth, with two of the remaining three declining sectors registering negative growth in the double digit range.Singapore, May 18, 2017 –The technical consumer goods (TCG) market in Singapore registered a slight declined by 2.5 percent in the first quarter 2017, compared to the same quarter last year. 

In the second quarter of this year, Telecommunications (TC), Major Domestic Appliances (MDA), Small Domestic Appliances (SDA) and Consumer Electronics (CE) were the four growth TCG sectors in Singapore, while Photo (PH), Information Technology (IT) and Office Equipment & Consumables were down in sales compared to the second quarter in the previous year.
