Economy upraise reflected in the Dutch technical consumer goods market

GfK TEMAX results for the Netherlands, Q1 2017

Amstelveen, May 11, 2017 – In the first quarter of 2017 the Dutch market for technical consumer goods showed an increase of 4 % in turnover, comparable to the last quarter in 2016. The Dutch economy shows a stable growth of some 4%, in combination with an almost record high consumer confidence indicator of >15%. This stimulates consumption and overall consumer spending is up 4% compared to last year, so comparable with the technical consumer goods market. Again Major Domestic Appliances showed the most significant increase (10% by value), although this quarter outranked by the increase of 23% for the (small) market of Photo. The total turnover reached 2.9 billion Euro.
